In April 2017 Abbeydale introduced a Ladies Academy Golf Programme. The programme has proved to be very popular and is a great way for ladies at the starter stage to try and learn golf before making a decision on whether golf is the sport for them. The details of what is included, together with the cost of the Academy membership is listed below. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Golf Manager, Nigel Perry on 0114 236 0763 or email him at email@example.com and he will assist with your enquiry.
The Programme offers Ladies with no experience of golf to come and try the game through a series of coaching lessons and as and when appropriate proceed to playing on the course. On receipt and approval of your application you will be enrolled in the Programme for a period of twelve months. On completion of the twelve months referred to, the programme will end and if you wish to continue playing then you will be required to apply for membership of Abbeydale Golf Club.
Details of the various membership options will be given to you during the Ladies Academy programme.
Coaching will be provided within the Programme by one of our resident PGA Professionals and will be offered in small groups over a series of 8 one hour lessons. All groups will be ladies only and all ladies will be beginners to golf like yourself. On completion of the group lessons you are more than welcome to purchase other lessons through the professionals, or join other coaching sessions that may be offered and you will pay for those accordingly. During the year of your Programme membership, you are entitled to have full access to the practice facilities of the club, so you can practice and improve your skills between lessons.
Advice will be given to you by your PGA Professional as and when you are ready to start playing the course. Once you have reached this point and the required playing standard, you will be entitled to play on the course for up to 27 holes of golf per week, excluding Saturdays and Wednesday mornings. Under the Programme you will have full access to the club house and you are most welcome and encouraged to come along on Wednesday lunch times to meet other lady members. In addition you will be welcome to attend Club social occasions which you will see advertised around the club house or set out on the website or in email communications.
Upon entry to the Programme, you will receive a club card, which will entitle you to 10% discount on bar and bar snack purchases and will also serve as your ‘key’ to the locker rooms and exit barrier.
The Cost of the Programme membership is £500 for twelve months.
