The club has always had a thriving, healthy membership and applications for all categories of membership are welcome. At times where some membership categories are full, we will always try to accommodate new members whilst awaiting their membership of choice.
We offer a range of membership opportunities to suit all male, female and junior golfers. Playing membership can be on a five day, six day or full playing term. There are reduced fees for students attending University, and those between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. Opportunities also arise for a limited number of corporate memberships, allowing businesses to entertain their clients on our course and have access to the clubhouse and hospitality areas for meetings.
For those who are non-golfers, but are looking for a social environment, we can offer a membership giving them full access to the facilities the clubhouse has to offers, so they too can enjoy the splendour of Abbeydale.

Membership benefits include:
Associate Membership with of a number of other golf clubs, allowing members to visit and play those courses at members guest rates.
1895 Club: Many clubs founded in 1895 have a courtesy reciprocal arrangement with Abbeydale.
County Cards: Now included with your membership, these allow reduced green fee rates at 100's of courses throughout England.
Golfers Insurance: Personal Liability, Accidental Damage (third party) & Personal Accident. Included in your membership.
House Guests: Up to 3 guests per household per year staying overnight with you in Sheffield are entited to be introduced as a 'House Guest' with complimentary golf, provided enough forward notice is given in writing or via email to the General Manager.
Special Visitor Tickets: Introduce from 5 to 10 guests throughout the year by purchasing up front an SVT at a very special rate.

On returning to Sheffield
I moved to London 8 years ago but kept my social membership going in the event that we may return to Sheffield in the future….

Having been a member of Royal Mid Surrey GC which was a very progressive and inclusive to all members within the golf club, I was delighted on my return to see how much progress Abbeydale GC was making with joint men and women monthly medals and stableford qualifiers and various mixed competition events.
Going forward a joint medal /stableford final days for the first time and all lead by a wonderful chairwoman pushing equality within the club.

A family sport
Golf is a sport we can all share as a family and enjoy healthy competition. Abbeydale encouraged and nurtured my golf over many years as well as my husband, son, daughter and son in law, and now my grandson Maxwell who is now a 4 handicap golfer playing at a high level and winning national competitions.
Our coaches run lessons for everyone. They are endlessly patient and encouraging, making use of our indoor swing studio as well as the practice ground.

When joining Abbeydale I was made very welcome by other members and our excellent professionals. I have since made many friends and enjoy other club activities such as the Book Club and exercise classes, as well as representing Abbeydale in team matches and running a lot of our junior golf.
